Rossi, Waters, Wilms

MICK ROSSI (keyboards, percussion, composer) Rossi’s career has long been defined by the inability to comfortably define him or his work. Performing diverse and progressive work rooted in the New York Downtown scene, he has performed in every major concert hall and arena in the world, including New York City’s MoMA, The Stone, the Knitting Factory, Carnegie Hall, Sydney Opera House, and as faculty member at The New School. He is a longtime member of the Philip Glass Ensemble as well as pianist and percussionist in Paul Simon’s band. He has appeared on eleven recordings with Philip Glass and eight with Paul Simon. Rossi has also conducted for Mr. Glass, including Book of Longing with Leonard Cohen and Dracula with the Kronos Quartet. He has worked with Dave Douglas, Renée Fleming, Eric Friedlander, Steve Reich, Carly Simon, Wadada Leo Smith, Sting, Foday Suso and Robert Wilson, among others. His newest recordings Live At Barbés, Drive160, and Never Fence With An Amateur are available now.

JEREMY WILMS (guitarist, bassist, composer) has jammed with Ornette Coleman at his loft and played Broadway revues at retirement communities in New Jersey (sometimes in the same weekend). He played classical guitar in an incarnation of Butch Morris' Orchestra. He was briefly in Chico Hamilton’s band playing guitar, and in the same period played bass on Broadway in Fela! the musical. During the tour for Fela! he played with Fela Kuti’s son Femi Kuti at the Shrine in Lagos and other venues around the world. He’s recorded with artists as diverse as Bebel Gilberto and Beyoncé.
Wilms is currently a guitarist in the orchestra for MacArthur Fellowship winner Taylor Mac’s “24 Decade History Of Popular Music” as well as the bassist on ABC Network’s “The Gong Show”. He is also the arranger and musical director for The Heathens and other acts based at the fabled Mckittrick Hotel, home of “Sleep No More” in NYC. He has multiple recordings as an instrumentalist, songwriter and composer.

CHARLES WATERS  (composer/ multi-instrumenalist) Charles Waters is described by NY Times as “wildly creative”, founding member of renowned jazz collective Gold Sparkle, leader of many groups including Zodiac Saxophone Quartet and Nuzion Peace Orchestra. Most recent release “Golden Garden” (2019, NuRecords) as well as numerous and extensive recordings. A curator, writer, filmmaker/scorer, Waters is active with Centre pour la Recherche du   Musicque Jardin (CRMJ) based in New York and Paris. He is the author of subversive improvisation textwork “Assemblage Manifesto”.
